The First Dance
The first dance between husband and wife is a memorable event. It is important to choose a first dance song that will stand the test of time and that you will still love to hear in years to come. I guess this is why timeless classic choices seem to be the favourite when it comes to first dance songs.
Wedding 1st Dance Etiquette Traditionally, the bride and groom will be alone on the dance floor for the first dance song. Sometimes the bride's father will cut in and dance with the bride halfway through, but otherwise the second dance is reserved for the bride and her father. Brides who have more than one father figure may wish to dance with both during the song.
First Dance Tip
The thought of the first dance can be daunting. If you or your partner are lacking in the dance department, it may be a good idea to take a couple of dance lessons beforehand. Many dance tutors and schools offer short wedding dance courses. If you pick something with an easy tempo and beat, for example a Frank Sinatra inspired 'swing' tune, you'll easily be able to 'bluff' your way through it.

The Second Dance
Mother and Son - Father and Daughter
It is often customary for the father of the bride to choose and organise the song as a gesture to his daughter. Shortly after the bride and her father take to the dance floor, traditionally they are followed by the groom and his mother. Finally, the newlyweds dance with their in-laws, and bridesmaids and ushers join the dancing.
The Third Dance - Let the Party Commence
Up steps the tempo for the first floor filler of the evening.
Usually a swing or disco number.
The most popular request we have for the third dance is 'Celebration' by Kool and the Gang.
To be honest, this is a great choice and a crowd pleaser.
Video of your First Dances Usually your video crew shall shoot the first three dances, then the lights will come down and everyone can relax, let their hair down, and dance the rest of the night away.
Note, that either the lights should be keep up, to a degree, or else supplementary lighting must be used by the video team, in order to be able to see anyone dance!
