What's the
difference? Formal, Casual, Black Tie
30 Years ago there was a very strick
dress code when attending a wedding either as a guest or an
attendant in the bridal party.
Today things have changed so much it can get confusing.
Here is a guide line for you.
Black Tie - Men : A
very smart, clean and classic look is the black jacket,
black Bow Tie and white shirt. Finishing off with black
dress shoes, vest or cummerbund.
Women: "Hollywood Glam".
Imagine going to the Acadamy Awards -
Long evening gown with all the Jewells.
Formal - Men: A tuxedo
can be worn or a dark suit with a white shirt and dark tie.
Dont forget the black socks and shoes.
Women: A Long evening gown or a cocktail lenght dress
(just below the know).
Shoes and accessories to compliment the dress.
Semi-Formal/Cocktail - Men: Business suit (black, grey,
blue) white shirt, shoes to compliment the suit. (no
joggers or thongs)
Women: Cocktail Dress (midlength) or a
smart suit, skirt or pants
Casual - Men: No jacket or tie required. Smart clean,
dressy jeans are acceptable.
Shirt with a collar (polo shirt, golf shirt) also a casual
shirt with a button front.
Shoes - NO joggers or thongs (unless you are on the beach
Women: Something you would wear to a party.
Jeans and joggers wont do but if you keep it neat and
respectable you can't go wrong..
